Steven Spielberg returns to the State on January 11 with The Post, a true story and pivotal chapter in recent American history, the story of the Pentagon Papers and the fight to make them public.

Starring Tom Hanks (Speilberg's go-to guy) as Washington Post Executive Editor Ben Bradlee and Meryl Streep (who’s never worked with Spielberg before, surprisingly) as Washington Post publisher Katherine Graham, the story traces Bradlee’s tenacious fight to publish the leaked papers and Graham’s struggle to be taken seriously as a woman in a man’s position.

There’s already Oscar buzz surrounding this film, and in our current political climate, a sturdy and riveting film about the importance of a free press could not be more needed. We're very excited to bring it to the State Theatre. Don’t miss it!
