You know that quote? It’s from a movie we’re going to show. Read on to find out which one, and to find out all the special screenings and events we’ve got lined up for October and Halloween!

First, lets get the kids shows out of the way: Saturday, October 5 it’s Harry Potter and the Socerer’s Stone (not really Halloween but sorta Halloween, right?), followed by Paranorman (an old State Theatre Halloween standby) on Saturday, October 12, and then come on back on Saturday, October 19 for The House with a Clock in Its Walls. All these Halloween Classics are at 10am and all are only 25¢! And then our biggest Saturday morning event happens October 26, our annual Family Halloween Party & Haunted Tours! From 10am to Noon you’ll be treated to Halloween cartoons, treats in the lobby, volunteers in costumes, and tours of our haunted backstage (this event is FREE, btw)!

You like Halloween-themed Wednesday Classics? Lets do those next. I Married a Witch on Wednesday, October 2; Cat People on Wednesday, October 9; Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein on Wednesday, October 16; 1956's Invasion of the Bodysnatchers on Wednesday, October 23, and finally King Kong (the original from 1933) on Wednesday, October 30. All these Wednesday Classics start at 10:30am and tickets are only 25¢!

Friday Night Flicks? Sure, we got those. Zombie classic 28 Days Later screens on Friday, October 4 at 11:15pm! The following Friday it’s Practical Magic on October 11. What’s on October 18? Why it’s A Nightmare on Elm Street. And then finally we’ve got The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday, October 25 at 11pm. Tickets for these FNF screenings are $3 each or 2 for $5, accept for RHPS on 10/25 - that’s a $10 ticket because you get a goodie bag for the show.

So that’s the regular stuff, the programing we do every month. Here’s what we got going EXTRA for October:

Saturday, October 12 staring at 11pm is our next All-Night Halloween Horrorthon! We’ll be screening FOUR films from the Halloween franchise; Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) and Halloween (2018)! You’ll be here until like 5am if you stay for all four, but we’ll have pizza for sale, and concessions will be open the whole time. $15 buys you a tickets to all four films but $25 gets you all four films plus unlimited popcorn and soda (it’s really the better value, trust us.)

Come on back the following Saturday, October 19 at 10pm for a special screening of Shaun of the Dead, complete with beer and spirits from our friends at Workshop Brewing Co.!

Then on Sunday, October 27 at 6pm it’s time to run amok amok amok with the Sanderson Sisters at our annual Sanderson Sister Soiree Screening of Hocus Pocus! Tickets are $8 and include treats!

And finally, on Thursday, October 31, Halloween itself, at 8pm, for $5 a ticket you can watch Beetlejuice on the big screen at the State! That’s what the quote is from, btw.

Have a Happy Halloween at the State!
